Terms of Use
Last updated: August 17, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and ACami. We have written them in plain English because the people who buy ACami are parents, not lawyers. Please read them before you buy a pass.
1. Acceptance
By visiting this site, creating an account, or buying a pass, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the site.
2. Who may use the service
You must be 18 or older to create an account. The adult who creates the account owns it and is responsible for everything done with it.
Children are welcome to work through the practice sets, but only under an adult's account. If a child uses ACami, the parent or guardian who owns the account is agreeing to these terms on that child's behalf.
One account per purchaser. Do not share your login, resell your access, or use a single pass to serve students outside your own household.
3. What the service is
ACami generates practice questions and shows you analytics about how a student is doing on them. The questions are produced procedurally by our own software, for standardized-test preparation — timed drills, adaptive difficulty, and progress tracking across the verbal and figural reasoning sections.
4. No guarantee of admission or results
ACami does not guarantee admission, placement, a seat offer, a score, a percentile, or any other outcome.
We do not promise that practicing here will get a student into a selective enrollment program, an academic or gifted center, or any other school or class. Admission and test results depend on many things outside our control — the student, the test itself, how a district scores and ranks applicants, how many seats exist, and who else applies that year.
Our practice materials are our own generated approximations of published item formats. They are not real test questions, past test questions, or leaked test content, and we do not claim they predict what will appear on any actual exam.
5. No affiliation or endorsement
ACami is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Chicago Public Schools, any other school district, or any test publisher. Where we name a test, a program, or a district, we do so only to describe what our practice is aimed at. Those names and marks belong to their respective owners.
6. Accounts and security
Give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at legal@acami.com if you think someone else is using it.
We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, breaks these terms, or has not paid what is owed.
7. Purchases
ACami sells one-time passes, not subscriptions. You pay once for a pass and we do not bill you again for it. Payments are handled by our third-party payment provider, and we never see or store your full card details. Current passes and prices are on the pricing page.
You have one week to change your mind. Ask for a refund within 7 days of your purchase and we will refund it in full. After those 7 days, purchases are final.
You do not need to email anyone, and nobody has to approve it. Sign in and open your account settings, where the billing panel refunds the pass itself as long as the window is open. We return the whole amount to the card you paid with, and the pass ends when the refund is issued. Practicing during that week does not disqualify you: the week is there so your child can use ACami before you decide.
After those 7 days, the one exception is a permanent shutdown of the service, which section 11 covers. Prices shown do not include any sales tax we are required to collect; where tax applies, it is added at checkout. We may change our prices at any time, but a price change applies only to purchases made after it takes effect - it never changes what you already paid.
8. Acceptable use
When you use ACami, you agree not to:
- scrape the site or access it in bulk with automated tools;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract our question-generation logic;
- get around usage limits, rate limits, paywalls, or account restrictions;
- copy, republish, redistribute, or resell our questions, explanations, or analytics;
- use the service to build or train a competing product; or
- attack, overload, or otherwise disrupt the service or the people using it.
9. Intellectual property
The site, its design, its software, the practice questions it generates, and the analytics it produces are ours and stay ours. Buying a pass does not transfer ownership of any of it.
What a pass gives you is a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the service and its materials for test preparation within your own household, for as long as your pass is active. That license ends when your pass ends or your account closes.
10. User content
If you send us feedback, bug reports, question corrections, or suggestions, you are giving us permission to use them to run and improve the service, without owing you payment or credit. You keep ownership of whatever you submit; you are simply letting us use it. Please do not send us anything you are not free to share, and do not include a child's personal details in feedback. How we handle personal information is described in our privacy policy.
11. Availability, changes, and discontinuation
ACami is provided on an as-available basis. We may suspend, limit, or permanently shut down the service, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice — including while a pass you bought is still active.
Features may change, be replaced, degrade, or be removed as we work on the product. We do not promise that any particular feature will still be there tomorrow.
If we permanently shut down the service while your pass is still active, we will refund you on a pro-rated basis, according to how much of the pass you had already used. Outside that case, section 7 applies: a full refund inside the first 7 days, and final after that.
We will make a good-faith effort to give notice before a planned shutdown or a major removal, wherever that is practical. Notice goes to the email address on your account, and we post it on the site as well.
12. Data on shutdown
If we shut the service down, or if you close your account, we will keep your practice history available for export for at least 30 days — from the date we announce the shutdown, or from the date you close the account, whichever applies. After that window we may delete it permanently, so export anything you want to keep as soon as you know you need it. Everything else about how we collect, store, and delete personal information is covered in our privacy policy.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of content, and uninterrupted or error-free availability. We do not warrant that every generated question or explanation is free of mistakes.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ACami is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities — including a missed admission or a disappointing test result — arising out of your use of the service.
Our total liability to you for all claims combined is capped at the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
Some states and countries do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits. Where that is the case, the limits above apply only as far as the law allows, and you may have rights these terms cannot take away.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold ACami harmless from any claims, losses, damages, and reasonable legal costs that arise from your misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of someone else's rights.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we post the new version on this page and move the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes we also email the address on your account. If you keep using ACami after the new version takes effect, you are accepting it. If you do not accept it, please stop using the service.
17. Termination
You may stop using ACami and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms, misuse the service, or do not pay. We may also end the service entirely under section 11.
Sections 9, 13, 14, 15, and 18 survive the end of your account and of these terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
If something goes wrong, please email us first at legal@acami.com and give us 30 days to try to sort it out informally. Most problems can be resolved that way. If a dispute cannot be, it belongs in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and both you and ACami agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
